On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at approximately 5:12 p.m., the Fairview Police and Fire Departments responded to a residence in the 900 block of Twin Oaks Drive regarding a possible drowning. The homeowner notified dispatch that they had located their pool service technician unresponsive in the swimming pool.
Evidence recovered at the scene indicates the technician arrived at the residence at approximately 1:00 p.m. to service the pool. The homeowner was not present upon his arrival but returned at approximately 1:55 p.m. and spoke with him briefly. Evidence suggests that shortly after 2:00 p.m., the technician entered the water and was not discovered by the residents until just after 5:00 p.m.
Upon discovering the victim at the bottom of the pool, one resident immediately contacted 911 while the other removed him from the water and began life-saving measures. Emergency personnel declared the individual deceased at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Kenyon McGruder of Richardson, Texas. Next of kin notifications have been completed.
The Fairview Police Department is working in conjunction with the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death. This remains an active investigation, and no further details are available at this time
