Household Hazardous Waste Event
The Town will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste event Saturday, April 29, 2017. The event will be held at Fairview Fire Station #1, located at 500 State Highway 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring their old chemicals, fuels, oils, paints for disposal to the event. Unfortunately, the Town is unable to continue to offer electronics recycling at this event, as it is no longer economically viable for our vendor. To take advantage of Hazardous Waste Collection, you must provide a valid Texas Driver’s License with a Fairview address or a copy of your last water bill issued by the Town. Your continued participation helps to protect the environment and contributes to a cleaner and greener Town of Fairview.

National Pharmaceutical Take Back Day
Visit Fairview Fire Station #1 on Saturday, April 29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to surrender anonymously expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other over-the-counter medications to law enforcement officers for destruction. This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse. The program provides an opportunity for law enforcement to collaborate with the DEA and establish a safe collection site. Participants may dispose of medication in its original container or by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into the disposal box. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in the original container, the depositor should ensure the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage. Intra-venous solutions, injectables and syringes will NOT be accepted due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.
